Trying cross stitch

I started to learn cross stitch by coincident, when my husband very old favorite cross stitch wristband spoiled and he need me to mend it. I have no idea but after looking at the pattern i manage to fixed it and since then i decide to learn how to cross stitch.

As usual i am checking youtube for some tutorial and get the idea to do it. Here are some  of the cross stitch i have made for my husband and friends.

Made this 2 image for husband during his birthday, instead of giving him birthday card like i always do i decided to make something he can keep at office or inside car so i googled up some image to try out. Made the cute cat for him as he love cat so much. Courtesy to the original designer of the 2 patterns.

These are the wristband made for husband friends. Its special request for their favorite football group and country flag.

Another knitting project on progress

I started knitting this sweater at the end of last winter, still work in progress and still many techniques to be learnt to complete it. the most challenging part to finish this sweater is shaping the collar and the armhole then matching it with the sleeve. This is the part where am still stuck lol..

The stitch i am using here is rib stitch for the edge and stockinette stitch for the rest

Crochet project

After learn how to knit my greedy self wanted to learn crochet too. When i was young i used to watch my sister crocheting table runner, tissue box cover, tv cover, scarf and etc. it seem so simple but i wasn't interested when she want to teach me how.

so as usual i go to youtube and search for "learn how to crochet" again there are many tutorial available. So i watch 4 video for basic of crochet, how to do chain, how to do single crochet, how to do double crochet and how to do treble crochet.

After learning this basic and feel comfortable doing it after few repetition. I start on making hats. I made 2 men crochet for husband and father in law. they are all done in half double crochet pattern

Then i made my own hat with multi color yarn in granny square pattern and single crochet at the rim.

Made the same crochet pattern with another color for my sister in law with small crochet flower for finishing. Gave her during her birthday

Then i learn to make booties. Here is the finish booties. Its men size as i am doing it for my husband to. Unfortunately its in black and white color yarn so the pattern is not revealed in the picture.

This one is the hat that i recently finished. Its in shell pattern. Latest pattern that i am trying with the goal in mind to create shell blanket

One day my husband was mad about the camera being scratch from dust, so i decide to make him one camera pouch. this can be used as phone pouch as well and i made a little string at the back so it can be hanged on the hook. If making the string longer and add button it can be used to close the pouch.

Got some left over from the yarn that i made hat with so i made this heat pad for the pot.

Lastly i been trying out some crochet flower to below are some of the sample i made.

Knitted Scarf

Last winter 2013, i decided to learn knitting. Tried to search around for knitting book but couldn't find at the bookstore i used to go. So i open up youtube and search for "learn to knit" there are countless video on it even in many languages available. youtube is the best way to teach yourself DIY for free :)

So for my first trial i have done cat eye stitch scarf. Below is the picture:

This is another scarf project that i have started but still ongoing. It rib stitch and the yarn is a little bit smaller then the previous one so i took more time to finish it. Once i got more time in hand i will try to finish it before next winter coming. This one is requested by mother in law to match her grey coat.

Card box cat house

As i mention earlier this is my another DIY project. We have more then 10 cats at home. I lost count cause the number is changing, new cats coming in others going for adoption and so on. Anyway since few boxes laying around why not make something for them to play with.

Initially i create for my white cat.

Complete house but after this i made little changes to the entrance. I cut out an arch instead of original triangle shape.

Look how interested he is in it.

fell asleep while i cut the roof.

This is double storey house for the kitten at in laws house. Its made of four box of mineral water.

This third one is for one of the oldest cat that we have. He is sick and getting cold so this house is for him to chilled in. Sadly he passed away few days after, been sick for more then a week.

There is another fourth house for the handicap cat that we have but i havent take any picture of it yet. will do soon. The house especially decorated not like those in the picture. As for now i have bought more decorating item for the house. Still some on the way to finish.

enjoy!

My DIY at home

Recently i have been so into DIY things. Been looking online for some DIY other people made make me want to make my own creative. I am not that bad am creative too, thats what i am thinking to myself. I got some old stuff thats not in use anymore so why not start something from it. So I have two project in mind. Cat card box house and macbook sleeve. Those fancy sleeve are sold very expensive, i will do my own.

First, here is my macbook sleeve made from old wool pullover.

The little flower is made of black button and grey string.

From the left over of the clothes i made little pillow for my cat. Originally i was thinking to make small pouched for the macbook charger but the cat was sleeping on the sleeve as i knit it so i made pillow instead. The writing was made from the same material with some knitting around it.

Everything is knit by hand.
